Shayne P. Carter's - Last Train To Brockville limited edition CD is now available.

The collection, put together for the recent Last Train To Brockville shows in New Zealand, spans Carter's music career from the Bored Games -  'Joe 90' to early Dimmer material, stopping off on the way via Straitjacket Fits and the Doublehappys - including the rarely heard 'Some Fantasy'.

Mastered by Nick Roughan (The Skeptics) and designed by Alec Bathgate (Toy Love, Tall Dwarfs), the compilation is only available through the Flying Nun website. If you missed the show or didn't get the CD, this is last chance to acquire the few remaining copies of this one off release.    

About the Last Train to Brockville shows:

Over the course of two rare shows,  Shayne Carter and band, dug deep into his incredible back catalogue, playing songs from Straitjacket Fits and Double Happys, unleashing “Randolph’s Going Home” and even Bored Games’ “Joe 90”….

Like a time capsule of amazing music, Carter and a blistering power trio featuring drummer Gary Sullivan (JPSE) and bassist Vaughan Williams, revisited the canon of one of New Zealand's greatest songwriters at Wellington’s Bar Bodega on Friday 6 May and then a week later at the King’s Arms in Auckland on Saturday 14 May.

The show came about following Shayne’s good friend Chris Knox suffered a stroke in 2009. A benefit gig was organised and in recognition and celebration of his friend’s career, rather than play songs from a decade making music under the Dimmer moniker, Shayne and his band took it back.

“She Speeds”, “Dialling a Prayer”, “Needles And Plastic”, his musical brother Wayne Elsey’s “Some Fantasy” and more were rolled out in a passionate performance that sent shivers down the spine of 800 people in the bar.

With Carter's famed propensity for looking forward and not back, that show seemed like a one off.

But the time was right. And for two exclusive shows Shayne P. Carter re-visited his back catalogue in what amounted to a swag of bona fide New Zealand rock classics.
