The Gordons showed us that it was possible to do something completely different in 1980 by cutting out the cliched rock conventions, cranking up bold and modern musical ideas, and effectively using repetition and volume. They blew everyone and everything away. No one knew that loud was a thing before The Gordons.

Great songs are at the heart of it, with all four band members contributing good to excellent material that has then been well arranged, well played and sung and well recorded. The exciting moment of release was [COVID] obliterated, but the music itself does have a life of its own that lives on...

....As always, the lyrics are inscrutable; the listener knows they have some greater meaning but soon comes to understand its full appreciation will be a pleasurable long-term project. It is all part of the experience of enjoying the work of Aldous Harding. In live and recorded performances, Aldous Harding is rewardingly enjoyable, magical and deeply mysterious.... 

avoid!avoid, the name tells some of the story. They are obviously not a pop band waiting on your clicks. With a tricky band name like that they might just be a tad coy. Not being all that needy might be nearer the mark. They weren't ones for fuss, they just wanted to keep their heads down and play adventurous krauty rock music.
