Laurence Jr.\u003c\/strong\u003e \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eDespite the involvement of two members of\u003cstrong\u003e Blondie, Miami \u003c\/strong\u003ewas no pop-punk concoction, but rather a further exploration of the neo-swamp blues Pierce and company had mined on \u003cstrong\u003eFire of Love\u003c\/strong\u003e, though Stein's production made Pierce's toxic musical stew a little easier to swallow.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eMiami\u003c\/strong\u003e didn't get its proper due back in the day, but was hugely impactful. \u003cstrong\u003eBilly Idol \u003c\/strong\u003esaid the closing track \"\u003cstrong\u003eMother Earth\"\u003c\/strong\u003e was a key influence on his 1982 hit \"\u003cstrong\u003eWhite Wedding.\u003c\/strong\u003e\" While \u003cstrong\u003eThe Gun Club \u003c\/strong\u003ewent on to inspire such artists as \u003cstrong\u003eChris Isaak, The White Stripes and Mark Lanegan, \u003c\/strong\u003ethe band also highlighted their own influences on \u003cstrong\u003eMiami. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003eThe album includes a howling take on \u003cstrong\u003eCreedence Clearwater Revival's \"Run Through Jungle,\"\u003c\/strong\u003e a revved up version of the traditional folk song \"\u003cstrong\u003eJohn Hardy,\"\u003c\/strong\u003e and a\u003cstrong\u003e Cramps\u003c\/strong\u003e-like rendition of \u003cstrong\u003eJ.R.
