Thanks for stopping by and visiting us at Flying Nun Records. Over the past forty years, the record label has released hundreds of alternative and underground Aotearoa New Zealand albums, singles and videos. Flying Nun originally started in the South Island in 1981, championing what later became known as the 'Dunedin Sound'. These days, we continue to release new local artists and bands, as well as reissuing albums from the catalog. We have three record stores located in Te Whanganui-a-Tara Wellington, Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland and Ōtautahi Christchurch. The shops stock both our record label releases, as well as a curated selection of interesting other music. Please take a look around!
