CAROLINE POLACHEK — WELCOME TO MY ISLAND
ALBUM | 14 FEBRUARY 2023 | PERPETUAL NOVICE
I haven't stopped playing this record since it came out. I'd say a decent 50% of those streams can be attributed to me. Absolute banger after banger.

PJ HARVEY — I INSIDE THE OLD YEAR DYING
ALBUM | 7 JULY 2023 | PARTISAN RECORDS
An album that’s really crawled its way into my psyche. Sinking into this out-of-time world that PJ Harvey has conjured here is so rewarding. Deceptively sparse and esoteric, her words and music feel, as always, incredibly considered & complete.

WEYES BLOOD x CLEMENTINE VALENTINE LIVE AT THE OPERA HOUSE, WELLINGTON
SHOW | 30 MAY 2023
A total dream. The heavens opened up and all hearts were aglow! Natalie Mering’s voice and command over the Opera House, alongside Clementine Valentine’s set, was an emotionally cathartic and spiritually unifying experience.

MODNIY — 'THE SIGN'
SONG | 13 JANUARY 2023
Love these lush, beautiful layers! Fell in love with Modniy’s Prosto EP last December and this single develops those ambient moods into an irresistibly dancey gem. The accompanying remix is also so so good.

CARLA CAMILLERI — EDITOR AND LABEL ASSISTANT
A.S.O — A.S.O
ALBUM | 2 JUNE 2023 | LOW LYING RECORDS
An absolutely fantastic debut album from the Australian/Berlin-based duo a.s.o. A heavenly collision of 90’s references, backed up by masterful production. Think Massive Attack meets Air meets Björk, all presented with a magnificent spin.

ROY IRWIN — 'CLOVER'
SONG | 26 JANUARY 2023
This song by Tāmaki Makaurau-based songwriter Roy Irwin is immediately captivating with its sweet melody whistling atop a chugging, danceable beat. 'Clover' tackles the impossible feelings of losing a parent, but keeps a warm glow ignited throughout the song, paying a beautiful homage to their mother's spirit.

ALBUM | 17 MARCH 2023 | FIRE RECORDS
Flicker, the fifth album from Swedish atmospheric dream pop duo Death & Vanilla, finds them refining their sound to a sleek dream machine. SHANA CLEVELAND — MANZANITA
ALBUM | 10 MARCH 2023 | HARDLY ART
Shana Cleveland, guitarist of surf rock band La Luz, impresses with her versatility on her latest solo album Manzanita. The ghost of old time Americana hangs over these beautiful and haunting acoustic guitar driven songs, her finger picking an excellent example of American primitive guitar - a style established by acoustic pioneers John Fahey, Robbie Basho and Elizabeth Cotten.
