What Was That Thing?

Watch our new music video showcase series, What Was That Thing? Music performed live at the Flying Nun shop and uploaded weekly onto Youbube.

This week as part of the What Was That Thing? we have Te Whanganui-a-Tara band Recitals performing their song Champion Runner, live at the Flying Nun shop.

Champion Runner is a lurching but simultaneously grooving tune, with a bit of cello, trumpet and spooky synth thrown in for good measure. We like it so much we're considering pitching for the theme tune to the next Olympics. Paris 2024! Watch it below.

Recitals are a seven piece live band from Wellington, New Zealand (NZ).

Check their facebook page here and their instagram here.

Over the past year we've had artists we like come in and perform music for us at the Flying Nun shop. These are mostly local alternative, indie, electronic, folk, experimental, live performing bands and solo artists.  Video filmed, edited and recorded by Lochie Noble and Ben Howe.

The performance was filmed and recorded live at the Flying Nun Record shop, located in Wellington, New Zealand (NZ) The store sells vinyl LPs, CDs, t-shirts, merchandise and other music items.
