2022 Taite Music Prize winner and Top 20 APRA Silver Scroll Finalist, Anthonie Tonnon, has had a busy year celebrating the release of his album Leave Love Out Of This. Currently touring Australia in support of Nadia Reid and gearing up to support Sharon Van Etten when she visits the motu for a sold out show at Pōneke's Wellington Opera House, Tonnon shows no signs of slowing down before Christmas! Lucky for us, he doesn't want to slow down next year either, with performances lined up at Welcome To Nowhere Festival, Splore and Nostalgia Festival - and, just announced, a nationwide tour visiting some more regional destinations to follow up the five city run completed in May. Here's what he has to say about the upcoming shows:
"So - this long summer we’re getting the team together: lights, sound and the full band, and taking the show to some centres that I love. I often claim it’s the age of the regional city, so I’m excited to take the full band where my mind is.
In the spirit of Rail Land, we also have two shows - for Aucklanders and Dunedinites, that are only an enigmatic public transport journey away - by ferry to Waiheke or by my old haunt, the number 77 bus, respectively. We’re drawn to these hinterlands by fantastic venues - Artworks Theatre on Waiheke Island, where we shot Peacetime Orders, and - in the Pearl of the Plain - the glorious, 350 seat Mosgiel Coronation Hall."
