GO GEG! THIS WEEK'S GIG ANNOUNCEMENT ROUNDUP

News

The news is written by a mysterious person. Maybe Wendy Broccoli.

Is that a bit of light at the end of a very long tunnel? After months of silence, we are very excited to see a continuous string of gig and tour announcements in Aotearoa, from both local and overseas acts. There have been so many that we have decided to collate our favourites in one place!
Scroll down, take a look and if you feel safe and comfy, you might consider buying a ticket if any of these tickle your fancy.

PRINCESS CHELSEA - EVERYTHING IS GOING TO BE ALRIGHT PREVIEW SHOW

16th APRIL - NECK OF THE WOODS, TĀMAKI MAKAURAU

Have you ever been to a Princess Chelsea show? It's pretty amazing. Not only are the cinematic pop tunes unlike anything you've heard before, but Chelsea and the band are absolutely brilliant. It is a wonderful experience. They'll be playing some classic and new material at Neck of the Woods in   with Bub on Saturday 16th April.

Buy your tickets HERE via Undertheradar.

BIG THIEF

3rd DEC - THE POWERSTATION, AUCKLAND
4th DEC -THE OPERA HOUSE, WELLINGTON

Eeeep! This one got our attention. Big Thief will be visiting Aotearoa in December and will be playing at The Powerstation (Tāmaki Makaurau) and The Opera House (Te Whanganui-A-Tara). We have no idea how they're going to select material for this one out of the hundreds of songs that have blessed our ears over the past few years. However, we won't complain if they play absolutely everything and we end up staying for a few hours.

Buy your tickets HERE via LiveNation.

KHRUANGBIN w/ KAMASI WASHINGTON

Khruangbin were set to visit a few years ago with Tame Impala. We were rather disappointed when C-word ruined those plans. But fear not! They are back and set to play a headline show in December with the incredible Kamasi Washington

SIGUR ROS

6th AUGUST - SPARK ARENA, TĀMAKI MAKAURAU

Sigur Ros make a return to Aotearoa in August to play at Spark Arena. We think this will be a pretty incredible show. Possibly life changing, transcending. At least, those are words that were used to describe their last show in 2017. It will be the perfect winter show.

Mousey aka Sarena Close blew us away with her recently released album My Friends. We cannot wait to watch her perform the shows in person - her sweet yet powerful voice and masterful tunes certainly make her someone to watch. Physically and metaphorically.

We'd like to pay our respects to Foo Fighters drummer, and one of the greatest and most respected rock drummers in the world, Taylor Hawkins, who tragically passed away earlier this week. The band has cancelled their upcoming tour, including the NZ shows, announced last week.

Phew. We told you it was a long list! We'll check in again next week with some more gig announcements we're excited about.
Go geg!
