THIS WEEKEND: GRAEME JEFFERIES' RECORD RELEASE PARTY

News

The news is written by a mysterious person. Maybe Wendy Broccoli.

Jefferies is performing songs from Messages For The Cakekitchen live at The Wine Cellar this Friday, February 5th. Snap up your tickets from UTR:

Graeme Jefferies - Messages For The Cakekitchen Live at the Wine Cellar, Auckland

You may be thinking: 'a record release party? Wasn't Messages For released in 1988?' Well yes, yes it was; except this album was reissued just last month by Ally Records. Refresh your ears here:

At the show, Jefferies intends to play a some new material as well as some new arrangements of existing Messages For songs. He'll also have some of those fresh new vinyls to purchase. Best get along eh! Failing that, word is he is playing a wee little in-store at Flying Out on Saturday. Don't say we didn't tell you!

Need any more convincing? Check out this note slipped inside the original Messages For release:

Liner Notes: Messages For The Cakekitchen by Graeme Jefferies

If you're in Tāmaki Makaurau this weekend, make sure you get along to the show!

Side note: Graeme once played second guitar in Breathing Cage with Jay Clarkson, who is also about to play some shows with her band The Containers. We got Jay to answer a few questions and shed light on some unearthed photos we found in the Nun archives. It's a great read! Check out the article here.
