THE GORDONS REISSUE SELF-TITLED LP + FUTURE SHOCK

News

The news is written by a mysterious person. Maybe Wendy Broccoli.

The Gordons have announced a reissue of their 1980 EP Future Shock and 1981 self-titled LP for release on vinyl early in 2021; A beautiful way to start off the new year. Cast your ears back to the early 80s for just a moment:

These two were important records. They served as "foundational planks of the vibrant New Zealand underground, [...] evoking New Zealand antecedents as divergent as This Kind of Punishment and the Dead C." And of course, Nun fans know the shoegazers Bailter Space grew out from The Gordons too. These records set the tone, and were re-released by Flying Nun in 1988. Now in the 21st Century, we have the reissue with restored artwork and remastered audio released by 1972 Records. Nice.

The Gordons + Future Shock Reissue is due on vinyl January 22, 2021 and is available for pre-order over at Flying Out. You can check the digital version on bandcamp.
