Although the year is coming to a close, Vanessa Worm is showing no sign of cooling down with her delivery of a new song suited perfectly for days in the sun and long nights on the dancefloor. 'Lost Memories' is an exploration of movement and sound composed during "internal catalytic times and experiences", resulting in a piece that sounds completely fresh and new. Earthy, pulsating beats and spidery synths dance alongside Worm's vocals, which adopt cathartic, melodious tones.
The music video, directed and produced by Ruby Harris, edited by Nadia Darby and made with support from NZ On Air, feeds the song with deliciously textured scenes; all of them different, but all enriched with earth-fed nutrients and Vanessa Worm's organic, freewheeling movement.
Her new album, Mosaics, was created during a period of isolation in Forde's family home in Southland, and will be unleashed on January 12 2023. Keep your ears locked in for more and check out the song below.
