From the opening track, "Cherry-Coloured Funk," Robin Guthrie's distinct guitar work takes the lead, supported by a steady rhythm and Simon Raymonde's expansive bass lines. Liz Fraser's vocals are presented with greater clarity and directness than before, adding to the impact of the music.
