Calexico is such a beloved live act because of their willingness to improvise, to elongate, to divert into new and interesting alleyways. That spirit is all over Feast Of Wire's multi-genre song-smithing — songs like “Crumble” and “Quattro (World Drifts In)” are dense with myriad sonic layers that feel like they beckon you inwards, as Joey Burns’ voice comes close to trying to hypnotize you.
