Celebrating its 15th anniversary, Jane Weaver’s The Fallen By Watch Bird returns in an expanded edition paired with The Watchbird Alluminate, a companion set of reinterpretations by Demdike Stare, The Focus Group, Anworth Kirk, Emma Tricca and others.

First issued on Weaver’s Bird Records, the album remains a vivid piece of psychedelic femme-folk-rock shaped by Eastern European children’s cinema, Germanic folklore, 70s TV soundtracks and early electronic scores. Steeped in synths, mysticism and symbolic storytelling, it traces images of sailors, telekinesis, bird messengers and white witchcraft while exploring cyclical themes of death and renewal.

Presented in seven chapters, the album features Septième Soeur Wendy Flower of Wendy & Bonnie, Welsh vocalist Lisa Jen, American folk-pop singer Susan Christie and Bosnian violinist Behar. The Watchbird Alluminate extends the world further, drawing on drone, folk and shapeshifting psychedelia. Susan Christie’s spoken narration is reimagined by The Focus Group, while Emma Tricca and Magpahi contribute their own reflective interpretations. Moments throughout echo the eerie sway of Twin Peaks, the quiet poise of Vashti Bunyan and the theatrical intensity of Kate Bush.
