Orchestra of Spheres - Brothers And Sisters Of The Black Lagoon (Vinyl)
Despite their apolitical disposition, Orchestra Of Spheres still manage to create music that evokes the darker times we’re living in, as well as peddling a certain type of bouncy but abrasive, cross-genre dance music employed by the likes of ESG et al.
Explain the band: “It’s a time of remote war, mass deceit and money worship, and somehow the mood of the time filtered into these recordings.”
They’ve called it ‘ancient future funk’ at least once. As eclectic and difficult as it is to pin down it hangs together surprisingly well and, fortunately, it’s not all madcap shenanigans. Amidst all the noise, strangeness and free-form experimentation, an excellent band are emerging.
Tracklist:
A1 Bells
A2 Trapdoors
A3 Walking Through Walls
A4 Day At The Beach
A5 Anklung Song
A6 In The Face Of Love
B1 The Reel World
B2 Cluster
B3 Rocket #9
B4 Let Us Not Forget
B5 Divine Horses
