VALVE #8 Crank Hog Cluck CDR/Zine
Through the 1990s, the independent Palmerston North NZ music scene revolves around the recording, practicing & gig space, the Stomach. Outta this hive of activity, a number of record labels were birthed, and thrived on local sounds & those of a similar ilk further afield on Aotearoan shores. Two of these labels were Yellow Bike Records & Spotty Dog Records, who documented a busy noisy local active P/North underground scene.
VALVE was a series of mags with compilation CDs on Yellow Bike Records, featuring pieces & tunes made by numerous nutso outfits from all over the land. This particular edition features 22 artists including Claire’s Unnatural Twin, D. Baser, Squirm, Ross Harkness, the FLAMIN’ Werepigs, Whitey Hiss & Drugs vs. Grandchildren. Much noisy delight to scare & bemuse.
