Reduced to a trio (guitarists/keyboardists Pete “Sonic Boom” Kember, Jason “Spaceman” Pierce, and bassist Pete Bassman), Spacemen 3 turned the absence of percussion into an asset, giving The Perfect Prescription a distinctly less rock-oriented sound, with much more space in its varied and subtle arrangements.
