"When I was in High School my brother and I formed Christchurch's first punk rock band, along with friends Mike Williams and Findlay Calderwood. Skip forward about 10 months and we were befriended by Dunedin band the Enemy who invited us to travel south to play a show with them and a new band, The Clean. On the way to Dunedin we lost singer Mike and drummer Findlay and were forced to perform as a trio with another school friend, Martin Archbold on drums. It went well, we got a great review in Rip it Up plus the Enemy's Chris Knox and Doug Hood, suitably impressed, played us the new Jam LP and convinced to carry on as a 3 piece. We had a lot of good times over the years we were together, playing to kids at dozens of venues, Mollet St, Wayne Manor, The Gladstone, The Hillsborough and eventually the hallowed Christchurch Town Hall (with the Police and the Boomtown Rats). 47 years later Leather Jacket Records are releasing our EP, Going to the Movies for Record Store Day 2026. 4 Fab Songs on 45!" — Mark Brooks
