Mr Fantasy, Traffic's debut album, is often overlooked when searching for key UK 60's psychedelic releases, which is a mistake. They were pretty much the first band to hide away and 'get it together in the country' and consequently their idyllic Berkshire cottage became legendary - the front cover photo taken inside the cottage says it all!
Their highly original mix of pop, folk, rock, blues and jazz - all tinged with a psychedelic hue was groundbreaking at the time, and while some of the lyrical content can appear a bit twee, that didn't stop Bryan Ferry from covering the delicately lovely 'No Face, No Name and No Number'.
