Flying Nun Records Music News — Purple Pilgrims

Today, sister duo Purple Pilgrims have released the third part of a trilogy of Super 8 films that were made with friend and fellow musician Gary War.

This past Saturday we had the second Flying Nun 40th Birthday show at Wellington's Michael Fowler Centre. It was a huge night, with 8 bands and two stages. For this first photo instalment we have Purple Pilgrims, Aldous Harding, Superette and The Bats. All photos by Bruce Mackay.

Celestial sisters Purple Pilgrims reveal another visual attached to their spellbinding new album Perfumed Earth, which was released in August on Flying Nun Records. ‘Sensing Me’ is a Love Magic incantation and telepathic ritual. Through hyperbolic emotional shorthand we regard the grey area between love and obsession, fantasy and reality. A claustrophobic dream of elation, desperation, regret and double meanings. The video was directed by W.A.M Bleakley and shot on 16mm Kodak film.
