Our electronic and techno music songs are a bit edgy, indie and alternative. Here at Flying Nun, we have all the classics – from German band Kraftwerk (formed in 1970), Cluster (formed in 1971), and Harmonia (formed in 1973), all considered to be pioneers of the genre. Germany really did have a lot to do with the birth of the genre.
From France, we have Air taking us on a Moon Safari, and from the U.S, we have Flying Lotus and Mort Garson, who take us on electronic journeys with their soundscapes. Then there’s the Boards of Canada (who are actually from Scotland), who formed in the 80s and continue to innovate the genre to this day.
From Britain, we have Broadcast, an indietronica band who continues to experiment and push boundaries. We also have Goldfrapp, an English electronic music duo (Ooh La La!)

Ambient music, experimental in its nature, quickly transports us to another world and carries us away. It is all about the journey, telling us a story through sound.
Our collection would be nothing without avant-garde artists and innovators like Bjork, with her most recent album Utopia. Then there are more recent newcomers like electronic composer Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith, who follows in Bjork’s footsteps and transports us with her ambient music.
