Don McGlashan is a New Zealand songwriter with a significant music career.
He was drummer and singer with Auckland band Blam Blam Blam – with Tim Mahon and Mark Bell – which released the classic songs There is No Depression in New Zealand and Don’t Fight it, Marsha, It’s Bigger Than Both Of Us.
Don formed The Mutton Birds in 1991, with Ross Burge, Alan Gregg and David Long. The band had a series of successful songs including Dominion Road, The Heater and Anchor Me.
Don then went on to release the solo albums Warm Hand, Marvellous Year, and Lucky Stars.
In 2022 Don released another album under his own name. Titled “Bright November Morning”, it features his band The Others – Shayne P Carter, Chris O’Connor and James Duncan – along with guest appearances from Hollie Smith, Emily Fairlight, Anita Clark and The Beths.
Don McGlashan releases his music on his own record label Doncorp. When the vinyl is available for his album we sell it in the Flying Nun Records store.
