The Flying Nun Record Store Auckland; Vinyl, Books, Merch, CD's and More

In September 2023 Flying Nun Records opened a second record store in the central business district of Auckland, New Zealand. While Flying Nun has occupied various offices and outlets in Auckland since the 1990s - including from 2013-2020 around the corner at 80 Pitt st - this new location is our first proper flagship retail outlet in Tāmaki Makaurau.

The Flying Nun Record store is located at 202 Karangahape Rd (sometimes called K road) Auckland and is easy to find. It is just across the rainbow crossing from the iconic St Kevins Arcade (home to two of Aotearoa New Zealand’s finest live music venues Whammy Bar and Wine Cellar) and also near the main Wilson’s carpark, just through the food hall. 

The record store itself stocks Flying Nun vinyl, CDs, cassettes and merchandise, as well as a selection of new "non-Flying Nun" new releases, catalog items, reissues and more. Overall we lean more toward alternative and specialist music genres, such as indie, post-punk, krautrock, electronic, ambient and more. Because there is so much music out there, this is something of a curated selection. In addition to the above we also stock a good range of music books.

Flying Nun offers free shipping in Aotearoa New Zealand on orders over $80. For pre-order releases we only debit your account when the product has actually landed in our record stores and is ready to ship.
