Toto & Brian Eno – Dune (Original Soundtrack Recording)

A film adaptation of Dune is sci-fi nerds' White Whale, and it has been basically since the book first came out in the '60s. Various directors and writers tried to make it happen over the years--including a legendary take by Jodorowsky which apparently got storyboarded, and then ripped off for Star Wars (seriously, look it up)--but when David Lynch's adaptation arrived in the mid-'80s, Dune fans were left waiting for what would surely be the DEFINITIVE film version, since Lynch's more or less ditches the book when its convenient.

The film might be flawed, but there's one thing we can all agree on: the soundtrack for Lynch version totally whips. Toto--the prog rock legends mostly known for "Africa"--team up with Brian Eno for a soundtrack suitable to ride giant spice worms to.
