The Flying Nun Record store Wellington is located at 173 Cuba st, which is a vibrant central street with lots of excellent cafe's and other boutique retailers. Previously this location was occupied by the much loved Rough Peel music. Flying Nun Wellington is very close to the iconic record store Slow Boat Records, and downstairs from an excellent music venue San Fran Bath House.

The record shop itself stocks Flying Nun vinyl, CDs, cassettes and merchandise, as well as a selection of new "non-Flying Nun" new releases, catalog items, reissues and more. Overall we lean more toward alternative and specialist music genres, such as indie, post-punk, krautrock, electronic, ambient and more. Because there is so much music out there, this is something of a curated selection. In addition to the above we also stock a good range of music books.
Flying Nun Records originally started in the South Island of New Zealand in 1981, championing what later became known as the 'Dunedin Sound'. These days, the label continues to release new local artists and bands, as well as reissuing albums from the catalog.
