The Sundae Painters are the creative collaboration between members of The Bats, The Clean, Tall Dwarfs & Toy Love. Beaming out mysterious sonic frequencies from a farm shed in the South Island, bandmates Kaye Woodward, Alec Bathgate, Paul Kean, and Hamish Kilgour's project documents the four-piece discovering themselves somewhere else musically.

William Daymond may be the most enthusiastic and learned Bats fan known to humankind. Here he spares no details charting the ins and outs of the band, spanning 38 years and 10 albums from go to whoa.

Anthony Phelps, the photographer behind the new book "From AK79 to the Class of 81 (Photos from 1978-1982)" talks a bit more about his experiences behind the camera during this time. We also include a few photos and the book preface.
