Flying Nun king prawn, Roger Shepherd is set to release his first book next month - a collection of memoirs reaching back to the early days of the label, that fertile feast of kiwi ingenuity, dreamt up in the back rooms of a Christchurch record shop in the early '80s.
"I wanted to be more than just an observer. I wanted to be a part of what was going on. I had told someone and the word was out, and now I had to actually do this thing. Start a record label. I must have been drunk." he explains.
Was he? Who is Wendy Broccoli? How much did ABBA influence the Dunedin Sound? Which city did it come from? These are just some of the questions we hope he tackles. Regardless, it is sure to be a rollicking good read - so why not secure yourself a copy of Roger's insider guide to Flying Nun, In Love With These Times, it is set for release on May 30 and there are pre-orders available now at Flying Out.
Plus, each pre-order comes with a copy of the In Love With These Times compilation on CD.
