Flying Nun Records Music News — Straitjacket Fits

We asked Gareth Shute to write an article highlighting the ongoing importance of new indie labels in Aotearoa New Zealand. It got him thinking about how the story of a record label is often filled with as much mythology as truth.

This past Saturday we celebrated our 40th Birthday at the Auckland Town Hall. It was a huge sold out night, with 12 different bands spread across three different stage areas. For this fourth and final instalment we have Straitjacket Fits, Solid Gold Hell and Wax Chattels. Only a few days to go until our Flying Nun 40th show at the Auckland Town Hall - which is now sold out. It is going to be a huge night with three stages, a dozen acts and all kinds of other fun stuff to keep you entertained.
