New band Half Hexagon still remain a bit of a mystery to many, with only a handful of shows and no official releases as of yet. But - that does not mean they haven't already accumulated a dedicated fanbase and peaked the interest of many.  If you haven't managed to experience them live yet - do not fear! New York based songwriter, Steve Gunn, has announced his return to Aotearoa for three shows in October (thanks to the great people over at Banished Music, Stange News and Solid Entertainment) - the first since the release of his excellent sixth album, Other You. His career, which stretches across 15 years, has seen him produce volumes of critically acclaimed material, alchemizing his psych-folk, blues and free jazz sounds. Ōtautahi-based violinist and composer, Motte (AKA Anita Clark), has unveiled a new single and accompanying video off her upcoming album, Cold + Liquid, released August 12 via U.S label Ba Da Bing! Records.  'Plateau' is a two-part piece that displays Clark's virtuoso in all its glory, with sweeping violin arpeggios that blend into the synth samples scattered across the composition. While the first half soars and swirls in a deeply moving way, the second half creeps in like an ominous cloud with its slinky synth bass line carrying through the rest of the song.
