Femme-punk trailblazers and exemplary figures of the Riot Grrrl movement, Bikini Kill, have announced their first ever show in Aotearoa - playing a headline, all-ages show at Tāmaki Makaurau's Powerstation on the 15th of March 2023. Bikini Kill exploded onto the scene in 1990 in Olympia, Washington, quickly amplifying their unapologetic ethos, high energy and empowering lyricism across the globe, liberating feminist voices through music and through their initiation of Riot Grrrl. New York based songwriter, Steve Gunn, has announced his return to Aotearoa for three shows in October (thanks to the great people over at Banished Music, Stange News and Solid Entertainment) - the first since the release of his excellent sixth album, Other You. His career, which stretches across 15 years, has seen him produce volumes of critically acclaimed material, alchemizing his psych-folk, blues and free jazz sounds. His previous tours here have included headline shows across the country, including performances alongside The Chills, and a festival performance at the Southern Fork Americana festival.
